A little home in the heart of West End
The Burrow started with a simple idea: create a place where people could come together, enjoy good food and drinks, listen to great music, and feel right at home.
Back in March 2012, two couples and four good friends, Alan & Sarah and Noni & David, opened the doors to The Burrow at 37 Mollison Street, West End. Bringing together years of restaurant, hospitality, coffee, music and beer experience, we created something a little different: a neighbourhood cafe, gourmet pizza restaurant and craft beer bar with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Our original home had plenty of character. Previously home to The Ottoman Cafe for 13 years, the building had a rich history of its own. We loved its charm and renovated it in just three weeks, keeping much of what made it special. The name The Burrow came from that feeling of stepping into a little refuge, somewhere comfortable, familiar and a bit like home.
In 2016, we moved just around the corner to 52 Russell Street, into a classic Queenslander with more room to grow. We've carried that original spirit, along with much of the original Burrow fitout, into our new home.
We're big believers in good food, good beer and sharing. Our communal dining style is all about bringing people together, whether it's passing around pizzas or discovering something new from our ever-changing selection of independent beers. We're passionate about good beer and love supporting independent breweries, especially the little guys.
But there's more to The Burrow than what's on our menus. We bring you seven nights of free live music every week, making us a place to enjoy great food, good drinks and a bit of entertainment any night of the week.
We're proud of our West End roots, grateful for everyone who's been part of our journey, and excited about what comes next!
So come on in, grab a seat, stay a while and make yourself at home.
Welcome to The Burrow.
